Clean dorms with comfortable beds and privacy curtains. Located in a great area with easy access to museums and restaurants. Beautiful setting in an old villa with lovely garden decorations. Generous breakfast and free snacks throughout the day, including coffee, tea, fruits, and infused water. Friendly staff.

The location of this hostel is fantastic, situated in the trendy Escalante neighborhood. There are plenty of great restaurants and bars nearby, making it the perfect spot for foodies. the decor of the hostel is beautifully done and adds to the overall charm. the breakfast served here is delicious, with options like pineapple pancakes and good coffee. the private rooms are a good size and include a bathroom, giving you privacy and convenience.
Some guests have mentioned that the shower water was only warm at best.

loved my stay in san jose at this cozy hostel in the hip escalante area! the staff was friendly and helpful, the location was perfect with lots of cool bars and shops nearby, and the breakfast had a good variety of options. would definitely stay here again!

I had a fantastic stay at a hostel in a perfect location. the staff at Finca Escalante were incredibly friendly and helpful. the hostel is situated in a vibrant neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. I loved the comfortable beds and the delicious breakfast served in the beautiful garden. I enjoyed my stay so much that I even returned before my flight back home. Highly recommended!

The location of the hotel is excellent, right in the middle of a vibrant food and beverage district. the private rooms offer a peaceful sleep, even when facing the main street. the breakfast is delicious and there is a grocery store nearby for convenience. the garden is a beautiful feature of the property, providing a relaxing atmosphere.
There were some cleanliness issues reported in the shared room, such as uncleaned puke on one of the walls and a presence of cockroaches.

I had a great stay at a lovely hostel in a nice area with good restaurants, especially for vegetarians and vegans. the dorms were clean and each bed had a light and curtains for privacy. the breakfast included was simple but tasty, and it was a real bargain. the staff was very accommodating and the old building was nicely decorated. I also enjoyed the pool table and the common area where I could relax after putting my daughter to bed.
It was a comfortable and enjoyable experience. Cons: No complaints, everything was to my liking.
